Which Breast Implant Size Is Right for You?

After you have made the personal choice to have breast augmentation surgery, you will need to decide what size breast implant you wish to have implanted. This is not a decision to be made lightly and you should take your time and make sure that you choose the right size breast implants. Keep in mind that every woman is different and this means that the right size breast implant for you may not be the right size for another patient. There is no magical formula to help figure out what is the ideal breast size for you and in the end it will come down to a personal choice.

One thing that is often very important to most women who undergo breast augmentation surgery is that they want their breasts to look and feel natural. When considering the size of the breast implant, keep in mind that if you want them to look natural, it will be important to keep your breast size proportional to your body shape and frame. This is the key to keeping them looking natural and for others to believe they are actually your own breasts.

It is recommended to try on different implants at your plastic surgeons office. Try a few different sizes on under your clothes to help give you an idea of what your breasts could look like post surgery. It is a great idea to take some pictures as well. Show them to friends and family members, if you are comfortable doing so, and ask for their opinions as well. Never feel rushed and try on as many sizes as you need in order to help make the best decision for you.

Consider your personality type when choosing implant size. Are you a shy person who has always had smaller breasts with the desire to move up to a large and full D- cup? Would having your breast be the center of attention causes issues for you? While this may sound silly, it is an important reality to consider. If possible, speak with other women who have undergone plastic surgery with that surgeon and get their testimonials and recommendations.

Lastly, consider the shape of your body as well as your age. If you have a larger frame, your body will likely be able to have larger breasts while looking natural. Shape is very important when it comes to determining what size a woman should pick. Age also has an impact. As we age, our bodies change, and our breasts begin to sag and not look as firm as they once were. Choose a size that is natural looking for your age and body frame.

Your plastic surgeon will generally advise you on what size will look the best on you. Feel free to ask them any questions you may have. They are the experts and they will gladly help give you all the advice you need to make a realistic and comfortable decision.
