That's right you can live quite comfortably retiring in Mexico on $1,000 to $2,000 per month. Less if you speak a little Spanish, you can live anywhere you choose. More if you need to be surrounded by lots of American or Canadian retirees.

If you do retire to Mexico, after a year you will be eligible for government health care at $270 per person, per year. That is not a typo, $270 a year. This covers office visits, tests and hospitalization. There are many Canadians, where health care is free, if you are patient, who readily sign up for this program.

And ladies this monthly figure include a maid and or gardener. Move to Mexico and you may have cleaned your last window. Is your cheap places to retire list growing?

But how about shopping? At last count there are 98 Wal-Mart and 31 Costco warehouse stores in Mexico. These companies are not stupid...they go where the money is and it is in Mexico.

You can pick your climate when retiring to Mexico. You want beach, Mexico has them in spades. You move to the mountains and you can have spring year round. It is up to you to decide.

The Mexican people are hard working, family oriented and welcome visitors and retirees. You can walk to the town square in the evening without fear of harm. The drug related violence in the border towns is a fact...I am not suggesting these towns. However, even with those cities thrown into the mix the crime rate in Mexico is much lower than in the USA.
